Full-face motorcycle helmets, street bike helmets, bikers helmets in general and a variety of other types of motorcycle helmets for individual requirements. Full-face motorcycle helmets are the best because these protect the rider's entire head. Quality is an important prerogative for full-case motorcycle helmets as cheaper qualities are prone to affect the comfort and freedom of view adversely. These type of motorcycle helmets are best for street bikers.
When visibility is the concern, try out flip-up motorcycle helmets. These give more visibility but leave the chin out of cover, making it vulnerable. Try out open face motorcycle helmets as these provide protection for the skull, ears, and the face, less the chin.
A few things need to be checked out when buying a motorcycle helmet. Quality of helmets comes first. Always ensure that the motorcycle helmet you buy is certified. The market is flooded with cheaper alternatives but you stand to loose your insurance cover opting for these un-certified versions. Then comes fitting. Try motorcycle helmets before buying to detect possible 'problem' areas with the fit. Ensure that your helmet rests tightly against your forehead in such a way that you cannot put a thumb between the helmet and your forehead.
You can find a variety of motorcycle helmets, street bike helmets, bikers helmets online. Buying online is the best option nowadays because you pay a fraction of the price, but don’t compromise on the quality. Most online shops offer motorcycle helmets, street bike helmets, and bikers helmets of different makes, qualities, and sizes, so that you always have the best buy when shopping for motorcycle helmets.

The AMG Mercedes Benz Logo
The Mercedes Benz AMG logo is a recognisable brand that signifies quality. The Mercedes Benz AMG logo is only found on the cars manufactured by Mercedes-Benz which has become one of the most trusted names in the car industry.
The Mercedes Benz logo is a symbol that began in 1909 with the merger of two companies. Those companies were Benz and Cie and the DMG companies that produced automobiles at the turn of the century. When WWI became a reality in Europe the two companies joined forces to create Mercedes Benz.
The three pointed symbol has been designed to represent power over the land, the air and the sea. This may be the spiritual way of looking at the logo, but nowadays Mercedes Benz owners probably do not look at the logo in that way. To them, the Mercedes Benz AMG logo is a symbol of reliability, speed and quality of workmanship.
The Mercedes Benz AMG logo is found with the traditional Mercedes Benz logo. The AMG logo simply features the letters AMG which stands for Aufrecht Melcher Grossapach. These letters represent the names of the Mercedes Benz AMG inventors as well as the first initial of the birthplace of the AMG motor.
You will not find a Mercedes Benz AMG logo without the traditional three pointed Mercedes Benz logo, since the two represent a partnership to create the fastest, best car on the market. It was through striving for this goal, that the AMG motor was developed for race car drivers and to bring the public a car that currently reaches over 150 miles per hour.
Although the official name of Mercedes Benz did not become a part of the company until later the symbol has been an integral part of the Mercedes Benz Company since its conception in 1909. The Mercedes Benz name and the signature wreath of laurel became a traditional part of the Mercedes Benz AMG logo in 1926.
Why Look For The Mercedes Benz Logo?
When you are in the market for a car, choosing a genuine Mercedes Benz is a choice that will provide years of enjoyment. Not only is the Mercedes Benz AMG logo synonymous with quality and speed it also means that your car will be protected by the best warranties and service plans available. The build quality is such that the engine can easily go around the clock twice, that is 200,000 miles. The body work deteriorates faster than the engine does.

What's Hot in Motorcycling? Motorcycle GPS

Anyone who has used a great GPS system, including a great motorcycle GPS system, will know how user friendly and useful a good GPS can be. With modern GPS technology coming of age and modern digital mapping technology improving, a great motorcycle GPS can turn a ride into a pleasure.
What is GPS? For those who don't know, GPS stands for Global Positioning System. It is a navigation and positioning technology pioneered by the US army, that has been taken to it's ultimate and turned into a complete user friendly modern navigation solution. Whilst in the past GPS was really just the province of the military, the technology is now so good, and so cheap, that anyone needing the ultimate in navigation can afford it.
That includes motorcyclists, modern motorcycle GPS has also come of age.
Basically GPS works by cross referencing the signals from a number of satellites above the head of the user and using those references to plot the user's position on the globe. It will only work where there are available satellites, so if you can't pick up the signals your GPS won't work.
Modern GPS is accurate, depending on the number of satellites available, to within less than a yard. So anyone seeking to navigate by use of a GPS system can obtain extremely accurate positioning. And this is now user friendly. In the past this information was only available as a longitude and latitude figure. This was only really useful to someone with the technical expertise to actually use this to plot the position on a map.
However now modern GPS, including high quality motorcycle GPS systems, can combine digital mapping technology with GPS positioning to produce an extremely user friendly outcome. Basically the position plotted by the GPS can be overlaid onto a digital map to show the GPS user, including the motorcyclist, their exact position on a digital map, and tell them how to get from where they are to where they want to go.
So motorcyclists can now buy dedicated motorcycle GPS systems that they can use as a total navigation system. There are various ways they can do this. It's quite possible for the motorcycle rider, who may also, for example, be a keen hiker, to get a handheld portable GPS unit that can be taken anywhere, including mounted on a motorcycle. Download and install some maps that cover the area you want to navigate in and portable GPS can be used by just about anyone just about anywhere.
There are, however, some drawbacks using portable GPS for a motorcycle GPS system. When mounted on a motorcycle a GPS unit needs some special qualities. It needs to be vibration resistant, as a motorcycle has vibrations. It needs to be weather resistant as any equipment on a motorcycle will be out in the weather, including the rain. And it needs to be readable in all conditions, including direct sun.
And a motorbike rider needs to be able to program or use it whilst wearing heavy motorcycle gloves.
Luckily there are some excellent GPS manufacturers who have come to the rescue of the motorcyclist by manufacturing dedicated motorcycle GPS systems that combine all these features and more. The GPS mounts are designed to allow mounting without the problems of vibration, and the GPS units are vibration resistant, waterproof and can be read, and used, by the motorcyclist.
And even better, the best motorcycle GPS units can be used without the need for reading the screen. With bluetooth technology built in they can send directions by voice direct to the helmet of the motorbike rider, so the rider doesn't need to take his eyes off the road.
Program in where you want to ride and it will take you there every turn, turn by turn. Ask it to and it will tell you all the places of interest along the way, like food or fuel stops, and accommodation. With the right extras it will even tell you in real time where the traffic jams are and how to ride around them. This saves you both time and fuel.
And along the way your motorcycle GPS unit may even allow you to play your favorite music or do the odd phone call or three.
And a good motorcycle GPS system should set you back less than $1000. It's money extremely well spent for a motorcyclist who likes long, hassle free rides.
So if you ride a motorbike, and have a lazy $1000, you can't do better than spending it on a quality motorcycle GPS system. It will repay you over and over.

Volvo - Impossible to Crash?
Ok time for my weekly rant. Today I was driving a considerable distance to have my eyes tested (my uncle is my optician but I won't bore you with the details) which in itself was going to take up a considerable percentage of the day. This is of course before you factor in the traffic police, their procedures and rubber neckers. Yep some unfortunate fellow in a Volvo appeared to have had an altercation with another Volvo driver and the grass verge alongside the motorway was littered with more Swedish parts than Ikea.
Thankfully both drivers were fine, but then they would be in a Volvo. After all safety and Volvo go together like speed and Ferrari. Not as exciting I grant you, but I know which I'd rather be in when I plough into a tree at 70mph. Anyhow, I digress. My issue today was not with the accident itself - it wasn't deliberate, hence why they're called accidents - but with the traffic police that decided that despite only half of the slow lane being affected they'd close the entire motorway.
Surely common sense would say that once the police arrived on the scene with both drivers not picking their limbs up from the central reservation, that at most a single lane should be cordoned off, therefore slowing the traffic down, but keeping it flowing all the same whilst the debris was cleared. Not so, in fact I waited for two hours whilst the police flashed their lights and sat in their cars, before we were allowed to get going again.
Of course once the first few rows of cars set off, the rest wanted to see all there was to see and crawled past the stricken vehicles at 1mph, straining their necks and mumbling to themselves. Now I'd understand your scepticism about how I know so much about the crash if I: a) wasn't involved and b) didn't strain a look myself. Valid point made, however whilst I was stuck to the car in fronts bumper at 1mph screaming for him to get a move on, it was pretty hard not to see the situation as I went past.
Not content with saving the lives of those that do have shunts like the above, Volvo now believe they can stop a crash happening at all. At first I thought this was a coded message that they were the latest victim of the credit crunch and there'd be no more cars to buy. Quite the opposite. The new Volvo XC60 is a soft-roader (that'll be a 4 x 4 that goes on the school run but no-where else) that aims to keep the company streets ahead of its rivals who have caught up with their prized safety technology.
To outline just how much Volvo prioritises safety, the company were the first to fit head restraints, three point seatbelts, child locks, seatbelt reminder buzzers and daytime running lights. Volvo also employed a research division to visit every crash within a hundred mile distance of the factory in Sweden to analyse what had hurt the occupants in the crash and what could be done to prevent it from happening again. Their latest breakthrough clearly is not a fad.
The system in the XC60 is called City Safety and it involves sensors on the car that will automatically start the car braking if the distance to the car in front gets worryingly close. Just remember the system is called City Safety because it is intended to work at 20mph or below, so don't use this as an endorsement to show off to your friends that your car will brake unassisted because you'll more than likely end up in the back of the car in front until you read the handbook. That said, car insurers are considering a 25% discount to all XC60 owners, so confident are they that the technology will be a success.
There are also amber lights on the mirrors that flash like crazy if you stray out of lane - an enhancement on Citroen's idea which involved the drivers' seat vibrating which no doubt led to many women deliberately straying out of lane. It's refreshing that in a car world where electronic developments are normally reserved for quicker gear changes or more bass on your Sat Nav/In-car Cinema/Gaming Console optional extra, that Volvo have put their knowledge to something that could very well revolutionise road safety.
Hopefully they'll reward their current customers with a few versions to trial. I can recommend two drivers in need of new Volvos...

Jaguar Rolls Out New Product Offerings
Fresh off of its sale last summer from the Ford Motor Company to Tata Motors, the iconic British car company, Jaguar, is working diligently on updating its model line. Building on the successful launch last year of the Jaguar XF, the car company has two new models which they plan on releasing later this year at 2010 models. Both cars – the XKR and XFR -- were introduced at the 2009 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Michigan.
Mike O'Driscoll, Managing Director of Jaguar Cars said: "We've started 2009 with the introduction of an advanced new generation engine that set new benchmarks in terms of performance, economy and efficiency. Our cars meet the challenges of the modern world and the needs of today's consumers -- and they're also true to the Jaguar philosophy of creating beautiful fast cars."
The 2010 XFR will be powered by the all-new supercharged 510bhp V8 with acceleration from 0-60mph in 4.7 seconds, which will make the car the fastest Jaguar sports sedan. A naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8, producing 385bhp, powers the XF Portfolio and Premium models. XF retains the 4.2-liter V8 from the previous year.
Distinguished by unique exterior and interior design features, the XFR includes revised bumpers and lower front air intakes, sill extensions, hood louvers and grilles, four tailpipes, a trunk-lid spoiler, unique seats and 20-inch alloy wheels.
Both new engines for the XF range have highly competitive fuel economy and CO2 emissions figures. The 5.0-liter naturally aspirated XF delivers combined average fuel consumption of 25.4mpg while the XFR delivers 22.5mpg.
For the next XK and XKR Coupe and Convertibles, all-new V8 engines are being made available, powerplants which are expected to deliver more power and performance with greater efficiency. The all-new AJ-V8 Gen III direct-injection engines are the most advanced and efficient direct-injection engines Jaguar has ever produced.
The XKR features a 5.0-liter supercharged AJ-V8 Gen III delivering 510bhp, 461lb-ft of torque and propels to 60mph in just 4.6 seconds while the XK Portfolio features a 5.0-liter naturally aspirated AJ-V8 Gen III delivering 385bhp, 380lb-ft of torque and propels to 60mph in just 5.2 seconds.
Both models have improved fuel economy and CO2 emissions and meet US ULEV II/Tier 2 Bin 5 emissions regulations.
Clearly, Jaguar is heading in the right direction with its model lines, offering more powerful, but fuel efficient and clean burning engines than ever before. No longer just a niche player, the XFR and XKR will help Jaguar compete against the best that Mercedes, Lexus, BMW and Infiniti have to offer, rock solid premium cars with a distinct British pedigree.

Ktm Duke 690
KTM, Austria's sports bike maker, is planning to launch its bike as a joint venture with Bajaj in India. Initially KTM will launch Duke 690 in the Indian motorcycle market. KTM Duke 690 will largely be developed at Bajaj’s Chakan, India plant and will be marketed through Bajaj’s Probiking showrooms. This joint venture of KTM and Bajaj may be extended to manufacture scooters as well.
The new 690 Duke has the pleasure of introducing itself as one unique-looking motorcycle with performance to match. KTM made the revamp visible by building a new frame and fitting the bike with new fairings and seat, but what really makes this bike stand out is its powerful new engine together with the strong sound coming from a new under engine exhaust.
Riding Impressions:
Powered by KTM’s 654 cc, 65 bhp LC4 single-cylinder engine, the 690 Duke is light, agile and fun to ride. Perhaps more fun than the 65 bhp power output may suggest. Motociclismo tested the bike recently, and here are some excerpts from what they have to say about it:
The 690 Duke can be surprisingly tempting. It looks better than its other 690-series cousins, has better ergonomics and a character that’s all its own. Mechanically, the Duke seems to vibrate a bit less than other 690 bikes of KTM.
On the move, the bike feels responsive – twist the throttle and the small Duke picks up speed immediately – it almost makes you forget you’re riding a bike with a 65bhp single-cylinder engine. Wind protection is non-existent, but otherwise the Duke can be as suitable for longer rides as some of the bigger, more powerful bikes.
With firmer, shorter-travel suspension than other KTM 690s, the Duke feels better when accelerating or braking hard. The bike does not pitch or wallow too much, and the single 320mm front brake disc offers adequate stopping power.
Steering accuracy at high speeds and stability in fast corners is exemplary. The lightweight (149kg) Duke gives you the confidence to ride it as hard as you want. And yet, the suspension is not too hard or too soft – it’s just right for twisty mountain roads and even works well on the racetrack, should you take the bike to one. Top speed is around 180km/h, which isn’t too bad. Overall, the KTM 690 Duke is just beautiful – the perfect single-cylinder bike…
The current generation Duke has the LC4 engine, which is a huge improvement over the previous one. Sixty-five horses may not sound much, but when you have a bike that weighs just 148kilos and handles like a dream with top spec WP suspension, it translates into loads of excitement. During the ride, every corner I rode through was an experience. Even the small forest road we took had me enjoying every bit of the bike.
Earlier, the Duke did show a quick 180 km / h with another 20 or so to come, but anything over 130-140 km / h means straining your neck muscles. The ratios of the six-speed box are nicely spread. The bike also has a three way power mode switch under the seat for three different fuel mappings. Already, enthusiasts around biking forums are looking forward to the Duke. Start saving as the bike will be here sooner than you can imagine.
KTM first introduced the Duke in 1994 as a supermoto bike featuring a 609 cc single-cylinder which came to life using a kick start. It was the manufacturer’s first stock supermoto machine and it could be easily distinguished due to its unique styling and spoked wheels.

Why The Harley Davidson Motorcycle Is More Popular Than Ever Before
With more than one hundred years notched on their belt, Harley Davidson is praised with building the best motorcycles on the planet. There is little doubt that they deserve the acclaim.
Arthur Davidson and William Harley dreamed of creating a "motorized bicycle" in their early adulthood. Test models were created and failed miserably, but this never deterred the boys from achieving their goal. Despite early models requiring foot power on hills, Harley and Davidson continued striving to create the "motorized bicycle" that they knew would become a success.
By 1906, the first fifty motorcycles were manufactured. A few years later, they followed with a line of motorcycles for police and military use. Short of a slowdown in the 1970s, Harley Davidson never stopped tweaking and improving their models. Today, Harley Davison produces millions of motorcycles for use on every corner of the world.
The distinct engine roar and loud vibrations through their tailpipes allow onlookers to hear the motorcycle far before it is visible. Listening to the strength of a Harley Davidson engine is an experience few will forget.
Three motorcycle nicknames were established courtesy of Harley Davidson. "Choppers" were born when the angle of the motorcycle's front fork was extended allowing the handlebars to sit further back. "Hogs" became aptly named for the extra room used to transport racing pigs without switching to a larger vehicle. Who said people are the only ones who can ride a Harley? "Harleys" offered a shorter, catchier way to name a motorcycle manufactured by Harley Davidson.
Every March, Harley Davidson takes the Daytona by storm. June brings the Harleys to New England by way of Laconia, New Hampshire. Sturgis, South Dakota becomes a home away from home for many riders every August. Thousands of Harley Davidson's enthusiasts attend these gatherings. Many leave with dreams of having their own bike customized to match what they have seen on other bikes.
In 1983, H.O.G., The Harley Owners Group, formed its first chapter. Today more than 1,000 chapters are in existence and more than one million members share their love of these bikes, whether they own one or not. The devotion to this fine brand is proven, and you do not have to be among the elite to enjoy all there is to Harley Davidson. There are also a slew of online forums and websites devoted to Harley Davidson. Not even Yamaha, BMW, Victory, or Honda come close to having the same fan base.
Even if you cannot afford a Harley, you can still show your enthusiasm for the maker by purchasing items from their merchandise line. All of these items help contribute to Harley Davidson's $5 billion revenue every year. Hey, the advertising helps too! Not that Harley Davidson is hurting for promotion.
Harley Davidson truly is the reigning champion of motorcycle manufacturers. What others strive to achieve in their lifetime, Harley Davidson has conquered.
