Rolls Royce has a 70 years long history in the Indian car market. The company was founded by an engineer Henry Royce and a salesman Charles Stewart on May 4, 1904. They displayed their first car at the Paris Auto Show in December1904.
Rolls Royce banked on Indian shores with the introduction of first aero-engine. It then signed a partnership with India’s leading aircraft part manufacturer the Hindustan Aeronautics limited (HAL) in Bangalore. In 1907, the car manufacturer introduced Rolls Royce Silver Ghost that was admired for its grand styling and excellent engineering. With the launch of Silver Ghost the company received the tag of being the ‘best car manufacturer in the world’. This legendary Rolls Royce car made its first international debut at the London’s Olympia Motor in November 1906.
After that the super-luxury car manufacturer experienced a prolonged absence in the country and re-entered India after a gap of 50 years with the launch of Rs 3 Crore Rolls Royce Phantom in 2005. The Phantom is an ultimate car with grand styling and advanced technologies. The car is driven by a powerful 6.75-litre V12 engine that is further mated to the direct fuel injection, fully variable valve lift control, and variable valve timing to improve handling, performance, and driving dynamics. The car reaches a top speed of 240 km/h and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds.
After that the company even introduced the Phantom Extended Wheelbase and Phantom Drophead Coupe priced at Rs 3.15 crore upwards in India. For all the Rolls Royce cars Indian has been an ultimate destination.
After rejoicing years of success in India, the car manufacturer has launched the new Rolls Royce Phantom Coupe designed with unmistakable style and technological precision. The new Phantom Coupe is priced at Rs 4 Crore that makes this new one of the most expensive sports coupe in the country.
The exterior of the car is passionately designed with new and striking features comprising raked grille, body coloured bumper, LED door handle illumination, and impressive sidelights. 21-inch cast aluminium wheels further enhance the visual appeal of the car. A choice of 44,000 colours for customization is something that adds to the worth and demand of the car in India.
In the interior, the car is beautified with an assortment of features like leather-covered telescopic steering wheel, LED illuminated instrumentation, repositioned electric window switches, bi-directional double reading lights, wood and leather trim on the dashboard, tyre pressure indicator, and a trip computer.
The 2 door, 4 seater Coupe is powered by a 6.75-litre V12 engine that generates 453 bhp and gives a top speed of 250 km/h. It can accelerate from standstill to 100 km/h in 5.8 seconds. The new car also boasts about its massive boot capacity of 395 litres and a fuel tank capacity of 100 litres.
